General FAQs

Can I meet the pilots?

Yes! Many of the featured pilots and crew make themselves available before or after their performances to meet the audience. This is a great opportunity to get an autograph and talk to these amazing performers!

Central Texas AirFest urges you to prioritize hearing protection, particularly for children, during the event due to the loud noises from jet engines. Quality ear plugs are recommended, with foam-type plugs being especially suitable. If children are prone to playing with or removing foam plugs, consider soundproof earmuffs as an alternative, readily available at sporting goods stores in all sizes.

Yes, Central Texas AirFest accommodates varying levels of needs with features like handicap parking and ADA restrooms. The spacious concrete event area allows easy maneuverability for wheelchairs and other aids.

Yes, medical personnel will be on site and the CERT First Aid center will be open.

Pack smart for the air show! Bring portable chairs, strollers, cameras, cash or cards for concessions, sunscreen, earplugs, blankets, and handheld umbrellas (under 48 inches in diameter). Please note, that professional photo or video equipment is not permitted.

Motorized scooters and wheelchairs for disabled patrons are permitted in the AirFest grounds; personal golf carts are NOT permitted. Please be aware that the crowds may be heavy, that maneuvering may be difficult, and that there is no place at the show to plug in and “recharge.”

Alcoholic beverages may be purchased at the AirFest. You may not bring alcohol into the AirFest.

Due to security concerns, coolers and large bags are NOT permitted on the show site. All personal handbags, totes, diaper bags, etc. are subject to search at the entry gates.

The following items are prohibited from the Central Texas AirFest grounds:
• Outside food/drink
• Aerosol containers
• Tents or canopies
• Glass containers
• Non-collapsible chairs
• Illegal-illicit substances
• Skateboards, Scooters, Bicycles (exceptions will be made for those required for medical use)
• Drones or other remote flying devices
• Professional photo or video equipment
• Weapons of any kind
• Pets (service animals are welcome)
• Please note cooking and barbequing equipment are NOT permitted in the parking lots (for example, you are not allowed to barbeque in the parking lot for lunch)

Due to security and safety concerns, tents, beach umbrellas, awnings, and the like are not permitted on show grounds. Personal, hand-held umbrellas, not to exceed 48 inches in diameter, are permitted.

Yes, small strollers and wagons are permitted. However, they will be subject to search.

Yes, non-professional cameras and video recorders are allowed.

In the interest of everyone’s safety, the Central Texas AirFest is a no drone zone. Per FAA’s issued Temporary Flight Restrictions, drone operations will be prohibited within 5 miles of Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport.

Yes, portable restrooms will be located throughout the Central Texas AirFest grounds.

Yes, vendors will also accept debit/credit cards for all purchases.

No. Smoking/Vaping is not permitted anywhere on the ramp or in the grass parking areas.

Ticket FAQs

How much and where can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased in advance online and in person at the event. NO REFUNDSOnline tickets: Adult- $15.00, Child (ages 5 and up) $10.00Gate Tickets: Adult- $20.00, Child - $10.00 Military- $10.00 (must show valid military ID)A single ticket is good for a one- day admission.

Come rain or shine, the Central Texas AirFest is on! The event will proceed as scheduled on both Saturday and Sunday. Performers have routines suited for different weather conditions. While heavy rainfall might lead to schedule adjustments or delays, all display aircraft, concessions, and exhibits will remain open.

Parking FAQs

Where do I park, and does it cost to park?

Please see Event Map for parking area. Parking is free and there will be ADA parking. Please clearly display ADA placard in vehicle.

Due to limited space for parking, NO RV/travel trailers will be permitted on airport grounds.

Motorcycles should park in the same parking area as automobiles. Please see Event Map for parking.

No. Even if you have purchased tickets, loitering is NOT permitted in the parking lots.

Yes, keep your ticket stub for re-entry.

Safety FAQs

What safety measures do you have in place?

Emergency Personnel is provided by the City of Temple Fire Department and the City of Temple Police Department. In case of emergency, please notify a police officer, security, or staff member right away.

Information booth located near the ticket booths.

Please ensure you maintain a safe distance when viewing aircrafts. Even when engines are off, propellers can still pose a danger.

Friday, May 17 6pm - 10pm: concert and drone show Saturday, May 18 - Sunday, May 19, 9am - 5pm: AirFest, vendors, and other activities

Friday, May 17: parking lot will open at 5:30pm, gates will open at 6pm and close at 10pm Saturday, May 18 & Sunday, May 19: parking lot will open at 8am, gates will open at 9am and close at 5pm

Opening ceremonies will begin at 11:45am with the first act taking to the sky at 12pm! Show will last approximately 4 hours.

Please check your NOTAMS before departing. There will be a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) and airport closure in effect from 11:45am Central to 4pm Central on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19. There may be a TFR in place from 12pm to 2pm on Friday, May 17 for rehearsal.

Performers to be announced - check back soon for more details! The exact schedule will not be decided until the morning of the AirFest to allow for security, safety, weather, and operational concerns.

Generally, yes, the show is the same. However, there may be some variations depending on special aircraft, which may make only a one-day fly-by appearance.

Pilot FAQs

Can I fly my own plane into KTPL?

The airspace will be very busy before the Central Texas AirFest. Ramp space is very limited. Ramp space priority is granted to the AirFest acts over private planes. It is preferred that your aircraft be secured the day before the show. No aircraft will be permitted once the TFR is in place.
